They're both so primitive it's just sort of ... whatever, I guess. But hey: those boots I had on were made in Wyver, and didn't totally disintegrate. Imagine if I'd been wearing Olympian canvas slippers. I'd have no feet at all :)
Maybe I'll have to go shoe shopping in Wyver. Or have someone that owes me go and pick something up :)
Fire was around, yes. You had to heat your pot of water over it, after hauling it in from the nearest well. If you were determined, or had servants, you might fill a tub you couldn't even fit your entire body in so that you might feel a little more lavish. Then there's getting rid of all the bath water.
Hey, perfect! No excuses not to come down sometime.
It's like a .. super vibration shower, shaking atoms around and demolishing anything off you, including dead skin cells and germs and all that. No water involved, they're common on starships and planets with limited resources.

What in God's name is a sonic shower?

That sounds convenient, but not very relaxing. You're right about that. Not sure which I'd choose, if I had to.

It's good for being decontaminated, I'll say that much. I wonder if I'd find it nice, now, having been so long removed.
